E-Day on the Exmouth: Why the East-End should capitalise on open source software.

There may be some additional speakers, depending on availability. Watch this space!

  1. Buffet Lunch and Panel Discussion: from 12.30pm - 2.00pm.

    Introduction to the Open Day:

    Hugh Barnard - FOSS in Large Organisations: how the corporate world benefits from Open Source software.

    Fabian Tompsett: Ethos and opportunities for Open Source in Tower Hamlets.

    Chris Kilby: Lessons from the first two years of ProjEX and where we'll be a year from now (ProjEX is the open source based computer suite in the Social Club).

  2. Questions and Discussion.
  3. After lunch, there will be Static Displays and Demonstrations. We'll show a range of open-source software including Terminal Server (re-using low processing power machines), WikiEducator (free education project), Open Office (open source office software) and Gnucash (personal finance software).
  4. 3:45pm final questions and roundup.
  5. Mail us questions beforehand and we'll try and answer them on the day!
